Hawaii Lemon Laws – Most cars and trucks of any model are covered. The Hawaii lemon laws even include certain vehicles used for business purposes. Excluded are vehicles over 10,000 pounds, mopeds, motorcycles, motor scooters, and the dwelling areas of motor homes. Hawaii has the standard 1 repair attempt for a defect that may cause death or serious injury or 3 repair attempts (or 30 business days out of service) clause in section 481I-2. Owners have 2 years or 24,000 miles to make a lemon law case.
