Illinois Lemon Laws - Passenger cars, vehicles under 8,000 pounds (unlike the standard 10,000 pounds) and recreational vehicles, used primarily for personal, household, or family purposes are covered in Illinois state lemon laws. Excluded are camping trailers, travel trailers and motorcycles. Section 3 allows for 4 repair attempts or 30 business days out of service. After one year or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first) the owner can no longer make a case for a lemon.
