Maryland Lemon Laws - Purchased or leased passenger vehicles bought in Maryland are covered. Trucks with a ton or less rated capacity, and multi-purpose vehicles registered in the state are also included under Maryland lemon laws. Excluded are fleets of 5 or more motor vehicles and motor homes. Section 14-1502 part d states that 1 unsuccessful repair of braking or steering system failure, 4 repair attempts or 30 days out of service constitutes a “lemon” and must be reported within 15 months or 15,000 miles, whichever comes first.
