New Jersey Lemon Laws – New Jersey is unusual in that it covers motorcycles. Passenger automobiles or motorcycles leased, purchased or registered in the state are covered under their lemon laws. The living facilities of motor homes are not covered. 3 repair attempts or more than 20 calendar days out of service results in a car officially being a “lemon”. Title 56:12-31 requires that the owner make their claim within 2 years of buying the vehicle, or 18,000 miles, whichever comes first.
