New York Lemon Laws – In section 198-a, New York laws state that to meet lemon law requirements, a passenger vehicle must be purchased, leased, transferred or registered in New York, excluding motorcycles and off-road vehicles. If a car has been subject to 4 repair attempts, 30 calendar days out of service, then the car can be classified as a lemon. The owner has 2 years or 18,000 miles to make the lemon law claim.
