West Virginia Lemon Laws - Passenger vehicles, pickup trucks, vans and the motor vehicle section of motor homes purchased in this state on or after 1/1/84 are covered under West Virginia state lemon laws. The vehicle must be used primarily for personal, family, or household purposes to be covered. After one repair attempt has been made on a defect that was likely to cause death, the car can be called a lemon. Also, after 3 repair attempts or 30 days out of service, the car qualifies as a lemon. Claims must be made one year or earlier form the purchase date.
